A deeper analysis of data reveals that 55 Cancri e, a planet outside our Solar System, may have an atmosphere thicker than Earth’s but similar in composition. Researchers say the atmosphere of this mysterious planet could contain nitrogen, water and even oxygen — molecules found in Earth’s atmosphere — but with much higher temperatures throughout.
