2.7 billion!
That’s the number of women around the world who are still prohibited from having certain jobs! We launched the Women business and the Law 2018 report that shows what needs to change in the law to facilitate women economic inclusion.
World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim shares more:
It’s incredible to think that in 2018 2.7 billion women around the world still are prohibited from holding certain jobs. Our new Women, Business and the Law report pinpoints the legal barriers that hold women back economically. It also reveals that 45 out of the 189 economies we studied lack laws on domestic violence, and 59 do not have laws against Sexual Harassment in employment. We must change these statistics if we hope to end extreme poverty and build more inclusive, prosperous societies. http://wrld.bg/UJap30jbdQ8
