On this day three years ago, we arrived at a comet!
On this day: 6 August 2014, two years ago, after a 10-year journey and travelling over 6.4 billion km around the Solar System, ESA’s Rosetta Mission arrived at a distance of 100 km from Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. This is a full-frame NAVCAM image taken on 6 August from a distance of about 96 km from the comet. See http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2014/08/Comet_on_6_August_2014_-_NavCam
