India and European Union (EU) have accepted on the necessity to reinforce the Security collaboration for the most part on the subject of counter-terrorism.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini on Friday called on India ’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
They both discussed regional as well as global developments of shared interest.
EU High Representative Mogherini also held delegation level talks with India ’s External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj and they both reaffirmed their commitment to expanding their Strategic Partnership.
They also revised evolvement on the pledges made during the last India-EU Summit comprising areas of counter-terrorism, migration, water partnership and climate change action.
The EU is one of India ’s biggest trading partners with bilateral trade in goods reaching $85 billion in year 2016.
The EU is also the leading destination for Indian exports and a crucial basis of investment and advanced technologies.
