The Director of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey confirmed Monday for the first time that the FBI is investigating alleged Russian interference within the 2016 Presidential election process.
Mr Comey stated the FBI investigation would examine possible links between people within the Trump campaign and the Russian authorities and whether or not there was co-ordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.
He further said, the investigation was very complex and he couldn’t give a timetable for its completion.
Nevertheless, Mr Comey stated FBI had seen no proof to back up President Donald J. Trump’s claim that his telephones had been tapped by the former President Barack Obama administration.
