A special court on Wednesday summoned former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, former Coal Secretary PC Parakh and three others as accused in a coal scam case.
If convicted, the accused are obligated to be sentenced for a maximum of life detainment.
Responding to this allegation, Manmohan Singh said on Wednesday that he was upset with a Delhi court’s decision to issue him summons to appear as an accused in a coal scam case.
“I am sure that reality will win and I will get an opportunity to put forward my case with facts,” the former PM said.
“I am upset, however this is a part of life,” he said.
