India’s largest drug maker, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries is set to acquire multinational drug maker GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) opiates business in Australia.
As reports indicate, the GSK opiates business, including some major manufacturing sites and its portfolio of products along with inventory, will be transferred to a subsidiary of Sun Pharma.
According to reports , the new move will strengthen Sun’s vicinity in the new market and will help GSK to streamline its operations in Australia by permitting it to concentrate on its innovative product portfolio.
According to Sun’s statement, all workers from both sites will also be offered employment.
