Central Government of India will announce some radical changes in the film certification over the next few days.
Responding over the controversy on the Censor Board objections to the release of Udta Punjab film, Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday said, there is a need to liberalize film certification norms.
There are some people in the certification system who may have some conservative attitude but there are also internal checks and balances mechanism, he said.
He said, after the board, there is a Appellate Tribunal for film certification and 99 percent of the films get cleared without much changes. The Minister said, he is not satisfied with the current system.
