Queen Elizabeth’s love letter explaining how she fell in love with Prince Philip has brought a record sum at the auction.
In the pre-auction, the Queen’s love letter was estimated to fetch a bidding of close to 1,000 pounds but to everyone’s surprise, it was sold out for 14,000 pounds.
The 2-page letter was penned by the Queen in 1947, before her wedding to Prince in November that year. The letter explains how the duo met for the first time and how they were used to be chased by photographers. She first met Prince at the age of 13. She also spoke about his passion for sports cars.
Elizabeth has agreed to disclose her private moments for Author Betty Shew’s wedding souvenir book.
