Italian city Venice, which is very famous for small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges, a major tourist attraction, is said to be facing water shortage.
The boat-ride though the small islands has what made Venice a big tourist attraction. Venice constantly ranks in the top 10 tourist destinations in the world just for the view of water separating the small islands and the linking of bridges.
Now, the people of Venice are worried that water levels in the city are depleting. At some places, the water level has come down by as much as 70 cm. If this is the situation in winter season, what would happen to the water level in the summer, when the temperatures rise. They blame global warming for this situation.
If there’s no water and no boat rides, who will go to Venice? This is the concern of the people in the city as well, since most of their income come from tourism only.
