Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the first phone manufactured in Foxconn’s Plant in Sri City, Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh.
Redmi Note Prime has become the first Smartphone to be made in Andhra Pradesh. Termed as the enhanced version of Redmi Note 4G, this new phone is launched in India at exact price of Rs 8,499. The launch of the smartphone shows Xiaomi’s commitment to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make In India’ initiative.
Thhis Dual-Sim LTE Smartphone gas 4G support and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 Quad core processor to support 64-bit computing. With 2GB RAM, it has 3,100 mAh battery.
5.5-inch HD 720p Display, 16GB internal memory that can been expanded upto 64GB using microSD card, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera are its top notch specifications. Redmi Note Prime will be available for sale on Xiaomi’s portal Mi.com and Amazon India from December 15th, 2015.
It must be a proud moment for Sri City to unveil the first phone made in AP. Manufacturing of smartphones in AP has created vast employment opportunities. Many other phone manufactures are currently developing their phones in Sri City.
