Europeans need access to the internet wherever they go – at home, at school, at work, when travelling, etc. That’s why Europe has to start investing in very high-capacity networks. To achieve this objective we have proposed a set of measures to ensure everyone in the EU will have the best possible internet connection.
Our proposal includes new rules for #telecoms, plan to introduce 5G technology and support for cities & villages who want to offer free #WiFi.
The proposal also draws up new #broadband targets for 2025:
– 1 Gbps for schools, transport hubs & public service providers
– Access to 100 Mbps download for all European households
– #5G for all urban areas & major roads & railways
