Political will to fight climate change has faded at the same time as it is getting worse for those feeling its effects, the UN Secretary-General said.
The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on 12th of May expressed his concern over poor response from Political Leaders over climate change.
The political will to fight climate change has faded at the same time as it is getting worse for those feeling its effects, the UN Secretary-General said in New Zealand during interaction with reporters.
Expressing his disappointment, Mr. Guterres also said that the countries are not following commitments under the 2016 Paris Agreement which expects the nations to keep the global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
Climate change is caused by factors that include oceanic processes, biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions, and human-induced alterations of the natural world.
The latter effect is currently causing global warming, and “climate change” is often used to describe human-specific impacts.
