Political leaders across the World have hailed the defeat of Islamic State after United States backed Syrian Democratic Forces announced that they have liberated the terror group’s last stronghold Baghuz town in Syria.
The United States President Donald J. Trump hailed the fall of the group’s five-year caliphate but said that it remained a threat.
President Trump also said, the United States would remain cautious up until Islamic State is fully defeated.
The United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May promised to carry on fighting the terrorist ideology.
May also admired the bravery of the British forces that fought in Syria and Iraq alongside a United States-led global military coalition.
The French President Emmanuel Macron said, the fall of the caliphate has removed a source of potential terror attacks against France.
Macron also said, a significant threat to the country has been eliminated but the fight against terror groups must continue.
