Andhra Pradesh government has roped in National Geographic Channel to make a video documentary on the construction of the new capital city, Amaravati, right from the conception stage. Latest reports suggest that this documentary will be filmed for around three years, with a title “Amaravati, the future city”.
This film will be 44 minutes long and costs nearly Rs 50 lakhs. National Geographic Channel claimed that the documentary will have a viewership of 60 million per month. AP government is planning to use the documentary to promote the newly formed state at international arena.
Opposition parties, who always cry foul over Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s publicity stunts, has got another opportunity to criticize him and TDP. Recently, there was huge uproar over the alleged Pushkaram documentary. The stampede and death of devotees was linked to the documentary then.
