On March 7, Congress released its first list of candidates who will contest for upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
A total of 11 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and four candidates from Gujarat was seen to stand for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
Reports suggest the polls are likely to be spread over 7-8 phases in April- May.
On March 7, Congress released its first list of candidates who will contest for upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be fighting for Amethi seat while UPA President Sonia Gandhi will be seen to fight for Rae Bareli seat.
Earlier, it was believed that AICC President Priyanka Gandhi would be contesting for Rae Bareli seat but Sonia who was there since last five years will be contesting for the same.
The final list was prepared in the Central Election Committee party meeting that was led by Rahul Gandhi. A total of 11 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and four candidates from Gujarat was seen to stand for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
Top Ministers like Salman Khurshid will stand for Farrukhabad, Jitin Prasad for Dhaurahra and R P N Singh for Khushi Nagar seats. UP Congress Nirmal Khatri will contest from Faizabad.
