The Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme on Sunday. Over one crore farmers get the first installment of Rs. 2000 each.
The scheme was launched in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. According to PM Modi, the first installment of money under the scheme has been deposited in accounts of 1.01 crore farmers.
The central government has announced the PM-KISAN scheme in the interim budget 2019-20 according to which Rs. 6,000 will be given in three installments per year to 12 crore small and marginal farmers holding cultivable land up to two hectares.

The scheme was launched in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. According to PM Modi, the first installment of money under the scheme has been deposited in accounts of 1.01 crore farmers. He also added that those who didn’t get it on Sunday would get it in due course.
Modi said, ”This is your money farmers, and no one will be able to take it from you.” He further added that the scheme had been made foolproof so that no one can take away the right of the farmers. There is no role of middleman in this scheme.
