After a grand welcome to PM Narendra Modi when he laid the foundation stone for capital city Amaravati about four years ago, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre staged a “Gandhian protest” against the PM’s visit to the State on Sunday.
Pm Modi is visiting for the first time in the state after the TDP pulled out of the NDA last year. Large and full posters of “No more Modi” and “Modi never again” have come up across the State. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called PM Modi’s visit a “black day” for the people of the state. He also asked the TDP workers to hold Gandhian protests during Mr Modi’s visit.
Mr Naidu wrote to Mr Modi on Saturday on the SCS and promises he made to the people of Andhra Pradesh at the time of bifurcation. Meanwhile, on Twitter #GoBackModi has been trending.
