Australian women’s national team cricketer Alyssa Healy has won the ICC (International Cricket Council) Women’s T20I (Twenty20 International) Player of the Year award.
Reacting to the news, Healy said to the ICC Media, “it’s obviously a huge honour. I enjoyed some form over the last couple of months, thoroughly enjoyed playing for the Aussie team in the T20I format. Winning the ICC Women’s World T20 final against England is something pretty special, especially after a disappointing couple of years in World cups.”
The ICC Awards are a set of sports awards for cricket. The awards recognise and honour the Top International Cricket players of the previous 12 months.
The awards have been institutionalised by ICC Council since 2004.
