Former Indian Pacer Zaheer Khan has been appointed as the Director of Cricket Operations of Mumbai Indians. The legendary left-arm pacer of India has played three seasons for Mumbai Indians in the years 2009, 2010 and 2014 respectively and has also captained Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals) for two seasons.
In a press release, the Mumbai Indian Team stated, ” The experienced ex-India international Zaheer Khan will be part of the Mumbai Indians think-tank, joining the owners Mrs. Nita Ambani and Akash Ambani at the auction in Jaipur today [Tuesday],”
Zaheer Khan was quite happy and excited about his new role. In his official Twitter account, Zaher wrote, “Complete pleasure to be back in my home city with the Mumbai Indians squad. Looking forward to being a part of the dressing with @ImRo45 and @mipaltan. Can’t wait for the season to start,”
Zaheer Khan has been a pioneer of Indian pace bowling attack during his playing times and was also the highest wicket-taker for India in 2003 and 2011 World cup.
