4 Agreements Between India and Mauritius..!! Here’s What You Need To Know
India and Mauritius on Saturday (27th of May, 2017) signed 4 agreements after delegation-level discussions between India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Prime Minister of Mauritius.
The agreements consist of New Delhi extending a 500 million dollar line of credit to Mauritius.
PM Modi said, the line of credit is an example of India’s strong and continuing commitment to the development of the island nation.
PM Modi said both countries have decided that effective management of conventional and non-conventional threats in Indian Ocean is vital to chase economic prospects.
PM Modi also said, the conclusion of the bilateral Maritime Security Agreement today, will further strengthen mutual cooperation and capabilities between the two countries.
Congratulating PM Jugnauth leadership, for the signing and approval of the framework agreement on International Solar Alliance, PM Modi said, it has opened up new outlooks of regional partnership for both countries in this field.
Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth thanked India for its support in the field of education, training and research.
PM Jugnauth said, he and Prime Minister Modi debated bilateral cooperation, Infrastructure development and major projects that are currently ongoing and certain other issues of mutual interest among others.
Mr. Jugnauth said, India and Mauritius have close cooperation in Indian ocean that binds the two countries.
He further said, the two countries have developed strong cooperation in the field of defence and Security.
