The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Oscar statuettes of this year are going to look different with a new manufacturer Polich Tallix Fine Art Foundry, based in Rock Tavern, New York, getting on board to exclusively create the iconic statuettes.
For the first time in 34 years, a change is made in terms of manufactures. Since 1982, the Oscar statuettes have been made by Chicago-based R.S. Owens & Co. Polich Tallix will take the help of 3D technology restore few subtle features of George Stanley’s original sculpture made in 1929.
The 88th Oscar Awards Ceremony will be held on February 28, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood Los Angeles.
