The University of Munich has, particularly since the 19th century, been considered as one of Germany’s as well as one of Europe’s most prestigious universities; with 36 Nobel Laureates associated with the university, it ranks 15th Worldwide by number of Nobel laureates.

3. Quality of Faculty, measured by the number of academics who have earned top international honours, prizes, and medals (25%)
4. Publications, assessed based on the amount of research papers listed in reputable publications (5%)
5. Influence, calculated based on the quantity of research papers appearing in highly-influential journals (5%)
6. Citations, assessed based on the amount of highly-cited research papers (5%)
7. Broad Impact, analyzed based on the university’s h-index (5%)
8. Patents, assessed as a result of quantity of international patent filings (5%)
